Here’s a short clip from the webinar we did yesterday. We talked about the 4 critical steps or benchmarks needed for digital revenue success.

In this video, we also skewer those who decided to have a Newspaper conference at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton in Naples, Florida this Fall. With cutbacks, layoffs and declining revenue, one would assume that having an event at such an expensive location is just plain stupid.

It’s also incredibly disrespectful to those who fear being downsized due to budget constraints.

    Excellent guidance for local media…you hit the keys to success on the head. As I listened, I thought of one additional point…actually one that you mention briefly in this call:
    #5: Stop thinking about digital! Stop going to conferences, stop reading articles, stop looking at competition, stop comparing yourself to large pureplays. DO! Start the first four steps today. Make a mistake? Fine…it’s easy to rectify those mistakes on the web. We’re 17 years into the public Web. The time for thinking about it and asking “Can we really make money from digital?” is over. It’s go time.
