Over 100 attendees packed the Courtyard Conference room, on the University of Delaware campus on Friday, Sept 22.
This group of Wilmington area business operators enjoyed the very first Social Media Mash-up; a series of workshops designed to provide basic, Internet instruction to the local business community.
I was invited to host, as well as provide the opening keynote that set the stage for this series of 3, digitally-focused events. Featured speakers included Meredith Chapman, as well as Donna Serdula; author of Linked-In Makeover.
Educational events like these are incredibly popular, especially with local media companies looking to use a consultative approach to selling. Far more effective than a cold-call, Web Marketing 101 for Local Business workshops fill the room with hundreds of qualified leads and new BIZ-DEV targets. Local sales reps from The News Journal and Delaware Online were on hand answer questions, network, and introduce themselves to many Delaware advertisers that currently do not use Gannett products.
